Is an member of the Eastern Shoshone who lives on the Wind River Reservation, WY. He is the Tribal Buffalo Coordinator for the Tribal Partnerships Program at the National Wildlife Federation and a member of the board of the InterTribal Buffalo Council. He works to restore bison back to homelands of indigenous tribes, like his own, as a way to reconnect and celebrate cultural ways, as well as heal from the atrocities of the past and present.

Joely and her partner Lorne Kequahtooway develop the Buffalo People Art Institute in Regina, Saskatchewan. The actively work for return the buffalo into the collective consciousness of the people of Regina, and hopefully nationally. “The Buffalo are still here alive in our spirits and alive in our ceremonies, as they will continue for millennia. Sometimes dormant, but always present. Although the Buffalo do not run wild, they still run in our hearts, minds and spirits.” From tanning buffalo hide workshop to art exhibit and event to changing the name of one of the Dewdney Avenue in Regina, her enthusiasm to bring people together is contagious.
